It's starting to roll!

Welcome to the Cavalier Music Academy Blog! Each week we'll feature a noteworthy event that helps spread the word about what's happening around here.

For our very first installment, I'll be the contributor, but next week we can expect a more esoteric yet profound set of musings from the philosophy department.

To start, check out this video that was created by two of our hotshot guitarists, Mike and Dustin:

This is an example of the kind of creativity that is taking root here at W.H. Croxford. Each of these guys brings very different things to the table, but they push each other to rise to new levels. Watching this I'm reminded of that brilliant scene from "Crossroads" where Eugene wins back the soul of his mentor Willie Brown.

Now with the internet the guys can get votes and support from anywhere in the world. Make sure you pick the winner by voting in the comments section!

...I'll keep working on getting them to do the same project but with more Paganini.

In other news, the kids are all working hard at trying to create their own music, and it seems there's a bit of a duelling duet theme emerging. Aaron is writing a duet for ocarina and clarinet and plans to perform both parts. Maybe even simultaneously, like this guy does, but  with that woodwind sound:

Coming up on March 9th, vibist  Michael Wood will be visiting our school to give a workshop and performance for our music academy students. Mr. Wood and his bandmates will give some pro feedback to our Jazz band.

And to finish, I'll leave you with one of my favourite quotes from T.S. Eliot:

"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go."

Words we live by around here.
